On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the City of Virginia Beach will close Virginia Beach Boulevard at Cypress Avenue for a long-term construction project. The Routes 20, 33, and 960 will operate on a detour until further notice. Customers needing board/disembark for the Routes 20 and 960 must go the 19th & Parks lineup (adjacent to the Virginia Beach Convention Center). Customers may also see delays due to traffic.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on Monday, January 19, 2026, most services (bus, light rail, Naval Station Norfolk Base Express, paratransit, and ridesharing) will operate on a Saturday schedule. The ferry will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Transit center information booths and public access to all administrative facilities (ID badge, Lost & Found, etc.) will be closed. The Customer Service Call Center will be available from 9 AM - 4 PM.
