Planned work: Mernda Station pedestrian detours Started Sun Jul 20 Until Sat Aug 15
Monday 20 July to mid-August 2026 Pedestrian detours will be in place near the Mernda Station entrance from Monday 20 July to mid-August 2026, while we install new fencing to improve safety. These works will update the existing pedestrian crossing between the station and shopping precinct with new fencing, line marking, tactile ground surface indicators and signage. What to expect: pedestrian detours at times traffic management or staff may be in place near the crossing short-term noise from machinery while fencing is installed temporary fencing or exclusion zones around work areas.

11pm Friday 7 August to 4am Monday 10 August To improve the safety and efficiency of Melbourne’s metropolitan rail network, critical safety works will be undertaken along the Mernda Line. These critical safety works form part of Metro’s annual works program to maintain and renew the rail network. What to expect: medium to high level construction noise during the set up and use of the heavy machinery rail grinding works that will cause a short-term immediate increase in noise once completed, that will decrease over time increased noise, dust and local traffic in the works area or the rail corridor traffic management in place, as required. Every effort will be made to carry out these works with respect for our valued neighbours. Works may be subject to change due to weather conditions and operational requirements.
