Grayslake Platform Rehabilitation Project
Beginning Saturday, October 25 through mid-December, the platform at Grayslake/Lake Street station will be replaced. Approximately 400 feet of the platform from the paid parking to the east end of the platform will be out of service. In addition, the staircase at the east end of the platform will also be out of service. Please?use caution near the work area during this time.
Forest Glen Station Rehabilitation
Beginning Wednesday, October 22,?the northwest staircase at Forest Glen station will be out of?service for rehabilitation for 6-8 weeks.?Please use the southwest staircase at?N Elston Ave, to access Platform 2.
Metra Bike Policy Changes
Metra amends the bike policy?to address safety concerns?with large, heavy e-bikes and?e-scooters.??Customers are now required to be able to carry their bikes and scooters on and off the train themselves without assistance. For more information visit metra.com.
Morton Grove Partial Parking Outage
Due to ongoing construction of the new Morton Grove Metra Station and temporary reduction of the site's accessory parking, an existing 105-space municipal parking lot located at 8550 Lehigh Avenue will be made available to the public for permit parking starting August 1, 2025, through October 31, 2025.
Chicago Union Station - The Great Hall Entrance Closures Tuesday, Oct 28 from 3p-10p
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Chicago Union Station will have limited access from 3pm through 10pm due to an event taking place in the Great Hall. Access to the Great Hall entrances will be closed. Signage will be posted directing foot traffic to use the cab court entrances to the station. Customers should allow themselves additional time when arriving to Chicago Union Station to board trains.
