Reminder: Service Alert for Veteran's Day Started Until
The MTA will honor all U.S. military veterans, active-duty military personnel, and members of the National Guard and Reserves with Free transit rides on Tuesday, November 11. Regular schedules will be in effect, and FREE rides will be available on Local Bus, Metro Subway, Light Rail, MARC Train, Commuter Bus, and Mobility services. Eligible riders will need to present one of three IDs: U.S. Department of Defense-issued ID (Armed Forces/Uniformed Services/Military Retiree), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs-issued ID, or MVA Veteran designation on a driver's license or state ID. MTA salutes you and thanks you for your sacrifice, courage, and commitment to freedom.
Commuter Bus 2025 Veterans Day Schedule Started Mon Nov 3 Until
In observance of Veterans Day, Commuter Bus service will Not operate on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, except for Route 201, which will operate on the Weekend/Holiday " S" schedule.

Please plan your daily commute accordingly and check the MTA website (mta.maryland.gov) periodically for the most up-to-date service information.
Service Alert: Update Free Transit Federal for Federal Employees Started Mon Nov 10 Until
The Maryland Transit Administration will offer free rides to federal employees, including active-duty military, for core transit services, including local buses, light rail, metro subway, and mobility/paratransit.

Individuals will need to have an active CharmPass account. CharmPass can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Federal employees should email mtacharmpass@mta.maryland.gov with Free Federal Transit in the subject line to request a monthly pass. The following information will be needed for each request:
Name
Email Address
Federal Agency Name/Address
Copy of federal employee identification card
Once received and reviewed for compliance, a monthly pass will be loaded onto the CharmPass account within two business days for activation by the employee prior to travel. If the shutdown continues past 30 days, MTA will load additional passes onto registered accounts.
MARC and Commuter Bus riders can still continue to show their Government ID to ride those services for free.
