9pm Friday 28 August to 3am Monday 31 August To improve the safety and efficiency of Melbourne’s metropolitan rail network, critical safety works will be undertaken along the Craigieburn Line. These critical safety works form part of Metro’s annual works program to maintain and renew the rail network. What to expect: medium to high level construction noise during the set up and use of the heavy machinery rail grinding works that will cause a short-term immediate increase in noise once completed, that will decrease over time increased noise, dust and local traffic in the works area or the rail corridor traffic management in place, as required. Every effort will be made to carry out these works with respect for our valued neighbours. Works may be subject to change due to weather conditions and operational requirements.

9pm Friday 28 August to 4am Monday 31 August We’ll be doing underground asset relocations and piling works on the platforms at Essendon Station in August as part of our works program for the station. What to expect: medium to high levels of noise at Essendon Station and around the Grice Crescent rail access pad at times use of heavy machinery including excavators, dump trucks and non-destructive digging (NDD) truck use of hand tools and concrete pouring temporary fencing around the work site and pedestrian management in place in the station underpass as required. There will be limited access to Essendon Station during this time Use of some car spaces as a temporary laydown for materials. Grice Crescent Rail Access Pad: Work crews will be using the Grice Crescent rail access pad to drive machinery safely onto track, before moving them down to Essendon Station. Machinery or vehicles may be parked on the street temporarily while waiting to get to/from site. Temporary traffic management will be in place to safely manage pedestrian and vehicle movement through the area. No materials or equipment will be stored here during works.
7am Friday 28 August to 3pm Monday 31 August Up to 40 spaces in the Pascoe Vale Station carpark are closed, due to maintenance works. For your safety, please observe any signage and instructions in place during this time.
Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Craigieburn from 8.30pm Friday 28 August to last service Sunday 30 August, while maintenance and renewal works take place. Allow extra travel time.
